Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Two regions of Uzbekistan started introducing QR-codes at historical sites, the press service of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development said.
The project is being implemented in Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions with the participation of VERUM QR, as well as other interested agencies and organizations.
Within the framework of the project, historical monuments, hotels, restaurants and other objects of the tourism industry of Samarkand and Shakhrisabz have been equipped with QR-codes, the State Committee for Tourism said.
At the first stage of the test mode QR codes are installed in the city of Shakhrisabz. Until 1 April, it is planned to install in all tourist sites in Kashkadarya region. Information about the sights will be available in 12 languages.
With QR code, tourists can receive information about each of the objects with help of their smart devices. New technologies were applied to cultural and historical sites, hotels and places most visited by tourists.
QR-codes were previously installed at the majority of historical monuments in Khiva, as well as about 50 historical monuments of Bukhara.
